Anyone been/goingto Burning Man and lives in Miami?? I'm very much involved in the underground/burning man scene in San Francisco and I just moved to Miami Beach. The thing is, I love this scene and the creativity and culture that comes with being part of it. The music, the community, the parties, the crazy burning man inspired fashion... I love it. I'm wondering if there is anything like it in Miami.. or if Miami has its own cool underground scene. Are breaks big in Miami.. is there a group of burners out there???

New to Miami

Hi everyone,
I just recently moved to Miami to work at the Seaquarium on an internship, and I need a second job. I've been doing street magic and some juggling on Ocean Drive since I got here, but would like to move into fire spinning. I have 2 of my fire staffs with me, but I don't know of any good places to buy (Coleman or Ozark Trail or similar) fuel. I also don't know what ordinances/laws there are concerning fire performances, and was hoping someone could enlighten me. I'm also looking for a group that I can juggle and spin with in my (infrequent) spare time. I'm used to large group play times, and would love to find a bunch of people to juggle in the park with and work on feeding and feasting, or to try to learn takeouts.

A unique documentary about troops' experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan based on writings by soldiers, Marines, and air men. Some writings were published in the New Yorker in summer 2006. A larger assortment was published as a book by Random House last September. The film drew upon the submissions by soldiers for the book. We are looking for people who are depending on friends or relatives to support them and are not contributing to the household. Also into the idea of learning how to build some alternative housing, but maybe this isn't the place to post that part of what I'm looking for. Anyway, there's a possibility I will wind up in Miami, and when I look around for housing, I see all these neighborhood names, and I can't really tell where I want to be. I mean, in NY I know what every neighborhood is like, and it's easy to figure out where I'd want to be, where friends might like to live if they moved here. But it's hard to figure out for a place you don't know much about. Where would artsy types live? Where's cheap and safe? Where don't you need a car?

Burner and club scenes have just lost out on their condo situation in South Beach Miami, for the Winter Music Conference next week. Forgetting a love

hey- taking a trip with my girlfriend next month to miami, want to find a decent spot on south beach for fri and sat night, or if not south beach, a little higher up- would love to find a nice deco boutique place, but the three star places kind of scare me a little bit inside, and the Marlin, et. al. are out of my range-

main concern is CLEAN and can't hear the neighbours all night (and vice-versa), three star and up, doesn't need to be fancy as long as it is clean and nice- any thoughts?

ironically i lived in miami for ten years, but living there does not find one staying in hotels there much...

Free Drinks and Entrance to New Club!

Torero is a new club that recently opened below Hard Rock Cafe in Bayside.

The address is 401 Biscayne BLVD.

Im promoting for this friday and anyone that shows up and says that they are from tribe.net they will get in for FREE anytime that you show up.

If you are there from 10 to 11pm you will be able to DRINK for FREE. Thats right! Unlimited FREE drinks (house labels only). Thats for this friday only.

Why go to South Beach were parking is $10 to $20, Club Entrances are $20 minimum. Or even the Grove were Parking is $5 minimum and the club prices are $10 to $20.

Torero parking is $5 but you can park in front of bayside for $3. And the entrance is FREE, and you cant beat FREE Drinks from 10pm to 11pm.

The music is a combination of Bongos and La Covacha. The place looks really nice inside. Go check out picks at their website: www.toreromiami.com.

Ill be arriving at the club between 10:30pm-11pm. Ill probably be at the door so there wont be a problem.
